How Does It Work?
-
Families enrolling in the Redstick Cares Microacademy must also register their student with University View Academy (UVA), a free online public charter school.
-
Redstick Cares is not affiliated with UVA. We are an independent, private-pay program designed to enhance your child’s educational experience—not replace their school enrollment.
-
By combining UVA’s online curriculum with our in-person support, students benefit from a hybrid learning model that includes:
-
Structured academic support for online coursework
-
Social interaction and peer engagement
-
Life skills and “healthy adulting” classes
-
Career exploration and job shadowing opportunities
-
Guidance and planning for life after high school
-
-
This model allows your teen to stay on track academically while gaining the real-world skills and confidence they need for adulthood.
-
High school students will have group learning and socialization opportunities by attending their classes and study groups at Redstick CARES on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 - 3:00 .
-
We have a licensed educator who serves as a Learning Coach to support and guide the students through their work, help students with organization, provide emotional and behavioral support, and support 504 Plans and IEPs.
-
Additional classes based on need such as Executive Function, Life After High School, and Healthy Adulting are built into student schedules.
-
Additional supports and services are available on our campus, such as mental health counseling, cooking classes, movement classes, music lessons and more.
-
Relevant field trips such as college tours and career shadowing are scheduled once a month.
-
